This part of the law used to be about letting a juror or the whole jury go. It was called ‘Discharge of juror or jury’. However, this part doesn’t exist anymore. On 1 July 2013, they got rid of it. They did this by changing the Crimes Act. The change that removed this part is called the Crimes Amendment Act (No 4) 2011.
