Charitable Trusts Act 1957

Schemes in respect of charitable funds raised by voluntary contribution

49: Contributor may get back money before date fixed for first meeting of contributors

You could also call this:

“You can ask for your donation back before the meeting about changing the charity's purpose”

If someone announces a new purpose for money that was collected for charity, you have a chance to get your contribution back. This can happen after they publish an advertisement or send a notice about the new purpose. You can ask for your money back before the day of the meeting mentioned in the advertisement or notice. You can also ask within a certain time if you get a written notice about it. To get your money back, you need to prove to the person holding the money that you contributed and how much you gave. They will then give you back your contribution or a fair share of what’s left after they’ve paid for reasonable expenses related to the original purpose. Remember, you can’t ask for your money back after the time limit has passed.
