147A: Secretary must supply warrant of authority

You could also call this:

“Secretary must give investigators a special card to show they can do their job”

The Secretary must give a written warrant to an investigator who wants to use their powers under section 147(1)(a). This warrant needs to include the section number, the investigator’s full name, and a list of their powers.

If you don’t have this warrant, you’re not allowed to say that you do. It’s against the law to pretend you have a warrant when you don’t, or to pretend to be someone named in a real warrant. If you break this law, you could be fined up to $10,000.
