Accident Compensation Act 2001

Code of ACC Claimants' Rights, and claims - Code of ACC Claimants' Rights

45: Corporation's obligations in respect of Code

You could also call this:

“ACC must follow and promote the Code of Claimants' Rights”

The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) must always act in a way that supports and follows the rights of claimants as set out in the Code of ACC Claimants’ Rights. This means that in all their dealings with you, if you’re a claimant, ACC must respect your rights.

ACC also has to make sure that you and everyone else can easily find and read the Code. They need to let people know about the Code and help them understand it. To do this, ACC must use different ways of communicating, like using various types of media. They also need to make the Code available in different languages. This is to make sure that as many people as possible can access and understand the Code, no matter what language they speak or how they prefer to receive information.
